- The historic buildings are nestled in lovely indigenous gardens.We have shops and galleries selling creative work produced by community projects, individual South African artists and crafters. We support African Crafts produced in the rest of Africa. Some of the shops you will encounter include the following: Soft furnishings woven and made by Mungo Design with natural fibres such as cotton, linen rayon chenille and organically produced bamboo; Vapour glazed stoneware ceramic products, birdfeeders and bonsai pots; pret-a-pot contemporary homeware,water features, smart glass art and a selection of cactii;Indalo designer clothing, always natural, oftenorganic; Andrea's antique furniture, crystal glass, Spode, Susie Cooper; Moonstone, a gem of a shop with crystals, stones and fossils as well as gorgeous jewelery and a 'scratch patch for children; an experience for the senses at the handmade soap shop, Ruby Soul. They use fresh ingredients in all their products including oils and lotions using pure essential oils; Earth Sea Creations is a themed shop offering custom made mosaic and steel art with batik and art photographs; The REd Barn has an on site bakery for pet products as well as an array of jams, pickles, mustards and old fashioned sweets. A high light is the weaving museum housing 19th century power looms in daily use. The licenced restaurant serves delicious breakfasts, lunch and cakes with a Portuguese flavour.
