JUDY’S MUM AND BABESClasses are appropriate for babes from the age of 12 months to 30 months. The group is split into 2 categories: 12 months to 18 months and 18 months to 30 months. Tuition is through mum or dad. Lesson from 30 minutes are held twice weekly and are of a relaxed and happy nature. Songs are the medium of instructions and the babies acquire skills at their own pace. The rate of learning depends much on the baby’s of starting lessons, previous aquatic experience, Mum & Dad’s attitude, frequency and regularity of lessons (the more you do the better you become at it). The ultimate aim is to get each baby waterborne as soon as possible. However, this is not done at the expense of your child’s emotional well-being. Teaching your baby to swim could be your most memorable experience of your infant’s babyhood! BEGINNER SWIMMERSThese are classes for children from the age of two and a half year who are unable to swim. I group the pupils into age – appropriate categories. The first contact that a beginner swimmer has with water should be an active, enjoyable and fun experience. My beginner program aims to encourage the development of confidence in the water by providing a wide variety of activities in a safe and secure environment. I use a large range of toys and equipment in order to make the whole experience positive and rewarding. Some of the skills taught are:Water entry, balance in water, getting the face wet, movement in water and floating.2x20 minute classes is offered per pupil per week. The more committed you are to attendance the better the results. JUNIOR SWIMMERSThese are classes that are appropriate for children who are just waterborne. As their confidence increases, they progress from the “doggy paddle” stage to the beginning of strokes. Some of the skills taught are:floating, gliding, kicking, correct arm movement and breathing.2 x 20 minute classes are offered per pupil per week. INTERMEDIATE SWIMMERSPupils are gently introduced into deep water. Correct swimming techniques are emphasized so that the swimmer becomes more efficient in the water.Skills taught are:kicking, arm action and breathing for all 4 strokes, turning and diving. 2 x 20 minute classes are offered per pupil per week. STROKE CORRECTIONThese pupils are easily able to swim the length of my pool.
