Groot Constantia Estate is one of the finest surviving examples of Cape Dutch architecture and is one of the country's foremost vineyards and tourist attractions. Its rich history dates back to 1685 and the heritage of this magnificent property is visible through its historic buildings and celebrated through the attractions that the Estate offers. Award winning wines, amazing restaurant and the natural beauty of the Constantia Valley makes this a must see for visitors and locals alike.
Our range of wines have won numerous awards both locally and internationally. The range include whites, reds and sparkling wines. Wine tastings are very popular and can be enjoyed seven days a week. We also offer guided tours of the cellar to provide guests with an unforgettable experience.
With such a rich history, it is no wonder that the estate is home to several museums and historic buildings. The Orientation Centre houses an exhibition of several artefacts and photographs depicting the history of the Estate. The Manor House shows traditional living 300 years ago. Cloete Cellar displays drinking vessels, wine making equipment and the beautiful pediment gable by sculptor Anton Anreith is not to be missed.
The Estate boasts two outstanding restaurants catering to all peoples. Simon's at Groot Constantia offers a fresh and innovative menu in a beautiful light setting. Jonkershuis, in turn, displays the magnificent surroundings of False Bay and the Constantia Valley while serving up traditional Bobotie and Malay Curries with a modern twist from Chef Laurence Burgess.
